Award-winning investigative journalist, Manasseh Azure Awuni has revealed that associates of then-president Mahama tried to get him to dig dirt on then-candidate Akufo-Addo in the run-up to the 2016 elections.
The move, according to the said associates, was to get an equalization factor in order to counter the NPP whenever they raised the Mahama ford saga.
Speaking with Abdul Hayi Moomen on Moomen Tonight yesterday evening, Mr Azure revealed that persons close to President Mahama tried to get him to shelve that ford saga.
However, realizing he was not going to be bribed, they attempted to get him to implicate Nana Akufo-Addo in order to bring his reputation into disrepute.
According to Manasseh, these associates even informed him that they were aware that Akufo-Addo goes to Nigeria in search of money to fund his campaign but he refused to take that because to him, that will amount to false equivalence.
