National Cathedral: Chief Imam’s Donation Has Nothing To Do With Peace; He’s Only Employing Sophistry – Haruna Attah

Abdul Rahman Harruna Attah, a former Ambassador to Namibia has stated that the National Chief Imam’s donation to the building of a National Cathedral has nothing to do with peaceful co-existence among Christians and Muslims.

Speaking on Citi FM he said Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu “in polite terms is employing sophistry because since when haven’t we had peaceful coexistence?

“Nana Akufo-Addo had said that he had pledged to his God that should he win an election he will build a cathedral to his God and that has nothing to do with peaceful coexistence between Christians and Muslims,” he added.

The Chief Imam contributed a substantial amount of GHS50,000 towards the construction of the much-criticized National Cathedral.

The building of the National Cathedral has attracted widespread criticism with many critics describing it as a misplaced priority.
