Just In: Nana Addo Declares December 7 As A Public Holiday
The President has declared Election Day, 7th December as a public holiday by an Executive Instrument.
The is according to a statement signed by the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin.
This decision was taken following the submission of a proposal to the President by the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Mrs. Jean Mensa, the statement noted.
It stated that the proposal has the blessing of the Inter Party Advisory Committee (IPAC).
By this directive, 4th December which was supposed to be observed as a statutory public holiday will no longer be observed.
