The coach of the Ghana Black Stars, Milovan Rajevac has refused to take responsibility for the team’s poor performance at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
Milovan Rajevac, who guided Ghana to the 2010 World Cup final, saw his team exit the group stage for the first time since 2006 on Tuesday evening after losing to debutants Comoros.
The Comoros’ setback came after a tie with Gabon and a loss to Morocco on the first day. For the first time in the competition, Ghana failed to win a single match.
“I’ve only been in Ghana for three and a half months, so don’t anticipate miracles,” Rajevac said at the press conference.
Milovan Rajevac’s fate has been called into question in recent hours after Comoros defeated Ghana 3-2 in a match the Black Stars needed to win to stay alive in the competition.
Milovan Rajevac, who was reappointed as Ghana Black Stars coach in September last year to replace Charles Akonnor, has no plans to leave.
“I’ll stay and lead Ghana in the World Cup qualifiers in March,” he stated. I feel we have a team capable of improving and reaching the World Cup.”
