Presidential staffer, Charles Bissue has disclosed his mother suffered two heart attacks after he was cited in Anas’ investigative piece on galamsey.
Speaking on the Hotseat on Starr FM, Mr Bissue who was secretary to the Inter-ministerial Committee on illegal mining maintained that he was innocent and never involved himself in any act of corruption; insisting his mother could have died without knowing the truth.
“If I had the chance again, I would do the same thing again or even more because I believe I did nothing wrong. My mother had two heart attacks when the investigative piece came up against me. My concern is if she had died, she would have gone without knowing the truth,” he said.
In the investigative piece, Mr Bissue was filmed allegedly taking a bribe of GH¢35,000 to permit a company carry out mining activities despite the ban on all small scale mining activities in Ghana.
He however released a statement denying the allegations.
