Nicholas Teye, a former Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) trainee whose image appeared on campaign billboards for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) ahead of the 2020 General Elections, has disclosed that threats from people unhappy with the Akufo-Addo administration’s leadership have put his life in danger.
In an interview with TV3, Mr. Teye, 35, claimed that he is unable to walk about town without wearing a disguise out of fear of being attacked by irate Ghanaians who suspect him of taking part in the NPP plot that is to blame for their current economic problems.
He continued by saying that he frequently gets calls from unknown callers threatening to hurt him if they ever meet him for contributing to the pain of others in the nation.
Huge billboards were erected all throughout the nation featuring Nicholas Teye pleading with voters to support the NPP government in the 2020 elections in order to maintain the Nation Builders Corps (NABCO), which offered graduates temporary work. “Remember Me” was written on the billboards. Your vote determines my livelihood, but The government has canceled the NABCO program.
When Mr. Teye was a NABCO beneficiary, he said he received 300 Cedis for using his visage to accompany the text.
