My Incarceration Was A Politically Driven Agenda By Kufuor – Tsatsu Tsikata

Lawyer and Former Chief Executive of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), Mr. Tsatsu Tsikata, has stated that his imprisonment twelve (12) years ago was a political motivated exercise by former President John Agyekum Kufuor.

The legal luminary speaking with Alfred Ocansey on TV3’s Hot Issues on Thursday night revealed that his trial was a well orchestrated move by Ex President Kufuor to fulfil his political aspiration.

Mr. Tsikata explained that then trial judge, Justice Henrietta Abban was the tool the then President and his government used against him (Tsatsu Tsikata) in an incarceration he believes would have caused his death.

Tsatsu Tsikata was convicted on June 18, 2008 by Justice Henrietta Abban having found him guilty on three counts of willfully causing financial loss of GH¢230,000 to the state and another count of misappropriating public funds.

He later appealed the case at the Court of Appeal and was accordingly acquitted and discharged after he had earlier rejected a presidential pardon from then President Kufuor on the reasons that his trial was politically motivated and that he did nothing wrong.
