Muntaka Apologizes To Judiciary After Failing To Prove His Bribery Allegations

Minority Chief whip in Parliament, and NDC MP for Asawase, Alhaji Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka has rendered an unqualified apology to the Judiciary for making scandalous allegations against the third arm of government, and failing to prove same.

Chief Whip of the NDC caucus in Parliament, Muntaka alleged that a Supreme Court Judge Led the attempt by the NPP to bribe some members of the NDC parliamentary caucus to vote for the NPP’S choice for Speaker of Parliament.

According to Mr Muntaka, the said Judge promised the unnamed NDC MP that she will be given a substantial amount of money as well as other incentives.

Following his Allegation, a statement was issued by the Judicial Secretary serving notice that his Lordship the Chief Justice was taking steps to invite the legislator to substantiate his allegations in order for the necessary steps to be taken.

Muntaka himself insisted that he had evidence to support his allegations and was ready to prove same whenever he was called upon.

However, the honorable MP has made a shocking U-Turn, rendering an apology to the Judiciary, claiming that he has decided to let sleeping dogs lie.

In a formally written retraction and apology to the Supreme Court Muntaka withdrew the allegations and expressed regret about the unintended damage his comments had on the image of the judiciary, supreme court in particular.
