Whilst many candidates of the ongoing primaries elections are anxiously waiting for their fate, there are the others who perhaps because of their service to the people or whatever reasons are lucky to have outright endorsement by the delegates.
One of such people is Mr. Paul Essien of the Jomoro Constituency in the Western Region.
Mr. Paul Essien is the is the current Deputy Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs and also doubles as the sitting MP of that Constituency.
Delegates of the Jomoro Constituency in the Western Region have unconditionally accepted the current MP as the unopposed candidate to represent the constituency in the national elections.
Meanwhile, Mr. Essien was earlier on contesting with Mrs. Christine Komba and Mr. Hopeson Kwaw who were disqualified by the National Executive Council- NEC.
The NDC had been on the parliamentary seat since 1992 in that constituency until in 2106 when Mr. Essien beat the then incumbent MP to win the seat.
Party Executives therefore found it imperative for him to maintain the seat.
Jomoro Constituency had had its share of internal party differences before naming Mr Essien as an unopposed candidate for the General Elections where supporters of Mr. Essien called on the president to sack the MCE of the area for political divisiveness.
However, the MCE had urged all delegates to bury their party differences and come together to support Mr. Essien to retain the seat for the party.
