More Resignation Misery Hits Akufo-Addo Gov’t As Another Top Minister Reportedly Resigns To Chase Flagbearership Ambition
This portal has picked up reports that another major resignation blow has hit the Akufo-Addo government after following last week’s resignation of Minister for Trade and Industry, Mr. Alan Kyeremateng.
According to sources, the latest person to resign from government is Minister for Food and Agriculture, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto.
Dr. Akoto, if the reports are true, becomes the second high profile minister to resign within the last one week.
Just like Mr. Kyeremateng, Dr. Owusu Afriyie is also said to have taken this decision in order to focus fully on campaigning towards the NPP’s flagbearership elections.
Dr. Akoto holds a Doctorate in Agricultural Economics from the University of Cambridge, and has been Minister of Food and Agriculture since 2017 when the administration of Akufo-Addo took over the reins of power.
