Modest NPP Delegates Conference Shows Gov’t Is Sensitive – Ofori-Atta

Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta says government exhibited sensitivity to the sufferings of Ghanaians by cutting down on monies spent at the New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates Conference over the weekend.

According to Ofori-Atta, the moderation of the campaign billboards and cutting back on some activities that are normally cash demanding demonstrates that the NPP is conscious of the prevailing harsh economic situation in the country.

“I think they [conferences] are issues of the governance of a country and these are always important. If you see the way and we have moderated the advertisement billboards, it shows a party that is sensitive to the current moments of the situation he said.

“I don’t think you can ever let the issues of governance go. Democracy is important and does cause some amount of money to do that but clearly, you can see an environment that is excited about the future by being able to run a conference of this nature in a way that mimics the situation in the world,” he added.
