Minority MPs Discussed Ofori Atta’s Approval With The NDC Council Of Elders – Asiedu Nketiah Defends NDC MPs Amid Finance Minister Approval

The General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah has asked the rank and file of the Party to remain calm and be circumspect in their commentary after the consensus approval of Ken Ofori Atta as Finance Minister.

Prior to the vetting, the NDC had raised many questions about the competence and integrity of Mr Ofori Atta, especially with regard to the infamous Agyapa deal.

Having failed to block the appointments of Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Hawa Koomson, and Dr Afriyie Akoto, many NDC supporters thought the minority will make amends by blocking the appointment of Ken Ofori Atta.

This did not also materialize as the Finance Minister was approved by consensus. This has led to anger among NDC supporters.

However, in a statement released yesterday, the General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah assured supporters that the issue about Mr Ofori Atta’s approval was discussed with the NDC Council of Elders.

He therefore called on supporters to be calm and be mindful of their commentary.
