Minority Demands Resignation Of Finance Minister

The Finance Minister, Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta, has refused to appear on the floor of Parliament, prompting the minority in parliament to seek his resignation.

The Minority Chief Whip, Honourable Alhaji Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, spoke on the floor of Parliament today, Thursday, March 24, 2022, decrying the finance minister’s continued attendance at the lodging of parliament when there were pressing questions meant to address pressing needs to have some twelve questions tabled to and intended to be asked on the floor of Parliament.

He passionately demanded the finance minister’s resignation if he believed he was incapable of doing his duties.

He insisted that the finance department’s behavior was intolerable, and that he would quit immediately.

Honourable Cassiel Ato-Forson, the Ranking Member of Parliament’s Finance Committee, thinks the finance minister’s behavior to be commendable, as is his respect for the august House of Parliament.

The finances were due to appear before the house of parliament to address questions about how to keep the economy in its current shape.
