Deputy Bono East Regional Minister, Martin Gyarko Oti, has debunked claims he encouraged party vigilantes to go on a rampage during the voters’ registration exercise.
He said he has initiated steps to file a suit against the NDC over a doctored tape.
This follows news of a leaked tape the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) released at a press conference on Thursday.
The party’s General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, at the briefing, said the leaked audio captures Mr Oti ordering a section of the Invisible and Delta Forces to do everything they must to disenfranchise people, particularly in NDC strongholds.
However, Mr Oti, speaking in an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, declined to comment on the issue but the extent of circulation is worrying.
To him, it is a calculated attempt by a Techiman-based radio station owned by an NDC member to tarnish his image.
