Military Saga- Ketu South Shames NDC As Many Residents Turn Up To Register

Information reaching us indicates that, residents turned out massively at the Akuse Park Registration Center in the Ketu South Municipality to partake in the New Voters Register registration exercise.

We understand that, it was so massive that, even electoral officials at the Akuse Park had difficulty in controlling the crowd.

The supposed stronghold constituency of the National Democratic Congress(NDC) had been in the news in the few days following the deployment of military personnel to the area by the government ahead of the New Voters Register compilation exercise which the NDC claimed was to intimidate residents not to partake in the exercise.

However, the turnout today as reported disputed that fact as many jostled from here and there just to be part of the exercise.

Ketu South Constituency has 254 polling stations, however only a few had started with the exercise causing the traffic at some nearby centers.

Information gathered also revealed that, the adherence to Covid precautionary protocols such as social distancing, the instituting of a veronica bucket for hand washing and suchlike was at work.

Interestingly, there were no presence of the alleged heavily armed security personnel at some centers and only one at Old Timber Market Registration Exercise.
