The Office of the Special Prosecutor has started a probe into the much talked about Agyapa Mineral Royalties deal.
He has officially notified Parliament requesting for information on the deal.
In a letter to the clerk of Parliament dated September 10, 2020, the Special Prosecutor noted that his investigation is in pursuit of his Office’s mandate to exercise the functions and powers of the prevention of corruption.
Joy News’ reports indicate that House has since begun processes to comply with the directive and possible documents to be submitted to the Special Prosecutor.
The Agyapa Mineral Royalties deal has come under scrutiny from CSOs and the opposition NDC who insists due diligence was not done by government in enforcing the agreement.
