Mahama Reacts To Murder Of UG Law Professor – Tells Government To Launch Swift Investigations Into The Incident

Former President John Dramani Mahama, the NDC flagbearer for the 2020 Elections, has called on the government to launch swift action to investigate and apprehend the perpetrators of the gruesome murder of a senior law lecturer at the University of Ghana, Prof. Emmanuel Yaw Benneh.

Professor Benneh, a senior law lecturer of International repute was discovered dead in his own house on Saturday 12th September, though he is suspected to have been killed about three days earlier.

Reacting to the unfortunate incident via his Twitter page, the former President wrote, “I’m devastated by news of the gruesome murder of Professor Emmanuel Yaw Benneh of the University of Ghana. My deepest condolences to his family, friends, the Legon and legal fraternity.

Govt & the security agencies must take swift action to investigate & apprehend the perpetrator(s) of this heinous crime. We also need to urgently guarantee the safety & security of our citizenry”.
