To attend second cycle schools under the regime of John Dramani Mahama, parents had to sell their valuables before they could pay fees, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako has said.
His message was to remind parents about the economic burden President Akufo-Addo has lifted on them following the successful implementation of the free Senior High School (SHS) policy by the current government.
In an interview, the NPP Chairman popularly known as Chairman Wontumi stated that parents had to squeeze water out of stone before they could help their wards get into SHS.
“From our manifesto, we came up with policies that Mahama said it can’t be achieved. During Mahama’s time for children to attend secondary school, their parents had to sell their properties before it could be possible”, he said.
