Mahama Complains Of Presence Of Military In Only NDC Strongholds During Voter Registration

Former President John Dramani Mahama has complained about the deployment of the military in the just-ended voter registration exercise which he says was a deliberate attempt to intimidate members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He stated that the visibility of the military officers could be felt in the strongholds of the NDC but were absent in that of the NPP.

“If you look at the deployment you can see that somebody was trying to achieve something.

“Mainly in the strongholds of the NDC, the military was very visible and then in constituencies that NPP seems likely to lose, the military was very visible.

And in the very strongholds of the NPP there was no military.”

The NDC flagbearer flagbearer said while concluding, “So somebody might be trying to intimidate people and achieve a certain political consequence.”
