Machete Wielding Nigerian Shot By Police In Buduburam

A Nigerian man has been gunned down by the police at Gomoa Buduburam in the Central Region on Friday July 17, 2020.

Narrating the incidence on Accra FM, wife of the deceased said her husband had suspicions that someone wanted to take his life. For that reason he asked they relocate from the hotel they were lodging and go somewhere else.

However, on their way the man said he wanted to see a friend and tell him of his suspicions so they should take the lead he’ll follow suit. She told Accra FM News that she later discovered that her husband had been shot.

Speaking to the media, the Kasoa District Commander, Superintendent Samuel Odame explained that the man, Precious or Walter Billions as he was known, looked fierce with a machete and threatened to harm anyone within his reach therefore he had to be disarmed.

According to him, the police only acted in self defense because the man tried to attack police officers called to arrest him.

This led to rage by the Nigerian community in the area who besieged the police station, however, calm was restored as reinforcements were sent in.
