Lockdown Food Distribution Failed Because Akufo Addo Ignored My Counsel – Mahama

Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has stated that the three weeks partial lockdown food distribution programme failed because government did not heed to his wise counsel.

Speaking with the Ghana Association of Assembly Members in his office on Friday July 31, the former president said he called for the involvement of local community leaders such as chiefs, assembly members and opinion leaders in the national response plan, however, those calls fell on death ears.

John Mahama added that the Akufo Addo led government have abandoned projects that started under his administration including schools, health facilities and roads.

He promised to complete all those abandoned projects and continue with Akufo Addo’s own should he be elected president again come December 7.

He further pledged training programmes for assembly members to better equip them and also pay them monthly salary to motivate them serve their communities better.
