Let’s Campaign For Bawumia Because Of His Competence, Not Because Of His Tribe – Kennedy Agyapong

MP for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong has said that the loyalists of Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia must campaign for him because he has demonstrated extreme intelligence and competence, and not because he is from a non-Akan tribe.

The issue of tribes in the NPP has become prominent in recent times because some loyalists of Dr Bawumia have argued that the he should be considered as ideal replacement for President Akufo-Addo to lead the NPP because he is from a non-Akan tribe.

According to those who make this argument, this move will shake off the allegations that the NPP is an Akan Party, and that other tribes cannot be considered for leadership positions.

However, Kennedy Agyapong believes these arguments are nonsensical.

According to him, the Vice President has demonstrated beyond reasonable doubt that he is very competent to lead the NPP.

This, according to Ken Agyapong, must be the focus of the argument, and not anything to do with tribe.
