The Ashanti Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has denied a claim by Onsy Kwame Nkrumah that the NPP has placed ‘stooges’ in the Convention People’s Party to champion their agenda.
The NPP Chairman popularly known as Chairman Wontumi noted that the NPP wouldn’t waste time infiltrating the camp of a party that doesn’t perform well during national elections.
Using the 2020 elections as his case study, Chairman Wontumi stated that even “Osofo Kyere Abosom’s party did better than the CPP and placed third”.
Onsy Nkrumah claimed on Onua FM that Nana Frimpomaa was sneaked into the CPP by the NPP.
Mr. Nkrumah said he was close to Nana Frimpomaa when he didn’t know she was a stoop of the NPP until he became aware of it.
But Chairman Wontumi averred that the NPP is not the CPP’s problem but rather, the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to him anytime former President John Mahama even speaks, he tells his audience that he comes from the CPP and that should be angle Onsy Kwame Nkrumah should tackle his problem from.
“If he (Onsy) wants the CPP to be vibrant, then he should first separate his party from the NDC.
He can even consult Mr. Kwesi Pratt, he knows it is the NDC that wants to kill the CPP”, Chairman Wontumi said.
