Kpone Chief Denies Walking Out On Akufo-Addo; Says People Want To Destroy His Warm Relationship With The President

The Kpone Traditional Council has rubbished reports that suggested paramount chief of the area, Nii Tetteh Otu II walked out on President Akufo-Addo over being unhappy with the artistic impression of a district hospital yet to be built.

In a viral video, the chief was seen expressing disappointment while the audience looked on.

Speaking at a press conference, the chief said, “the misinformation on social media has put the name of the traditional council into disrepute and we suspect some people out there want to destroy the warm relationship we have with Nana Addo.”

He explained that his people are highly pleased with the hospital project; adding that his gestures in the viral picture was misconstrued.

According to him, he was only suggesting to the President that they rather construct a multi-storey facility for the district hospital, to help conserve land which the President obliged.

“We are very happy about the hospital project and find it shocking for anyone to say the traditional authorities here are displeased with it. Having waited for a project like this, we were happy that it was finally going to materialise,” he indicated.
