The National Democratic Party, the Party formed by former first lady, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, insists that their founder is not rejoining her mother party.
The issue of Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings rejoining the NDC has gained national interest after a plea made by her daughter, Zanetor Rawlings during the first anniversary celebration of the death of NDC founder, Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings.
Zanetor Rawlings made a passionate appeal to the NDC to make deliberate efforts to bring her mother back to the Party on their efforts to recapture power in 2024.
However, according to NDP’s National Secretary, Alhaji Mohammed Frimpong, “the factors that led to her leaving the party still persist, and I do not see Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings returning to the party.”
He further indicated that “as far as the NDP is concerned, we don’t see her leaving the party and we won’t watch her leave the party.” The NDP National Secretary also stressed that the NDC did not do anything to merit the return of the wife of the late Founder of the NDC back into the party.
