King Of Promises, Akufo-Addo Upstages Mahama And NDC – Now Promises Free Tertiary Education

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has promised that his government is already considering the feasibility of introducing a free tertiary education scheme which will ensure that education at the tertiary level is free just like the SHS level.

This promise upstages the promise made by the opposition National Democratic Congress and their flagbearer for the 2020 elections, former President John Dramani Mahama.

Speaking in an interview on Kumasi-based Wontumi FM, President Akufo said the greatest investment to make in a country is to invest in its people.

“What I’ve realised is that countries that are leading in development began by investing in the education of their people and that helped a lot,” he said.

With more and more brilliant but needy students failing to climb the academic ladder due to financial difficulties, President Akufo Addo has once again risen to the occasion to ease the pressure on parents and build the country’s human resource base.

“I don’t want to give a timeline but I’m sure it’s possible,” he said.
