JUST IN: Real Madrid And Barcelona Sign Non-Aggression Pact

Real Madrid and Barcelona have agreed a pact of non-aggression which will see neither club try and buy the other team’s players.

According to the reports, Florentino Perez and Joan Laporta, Real Madrid and Barcelona presidents respectively, have held several conversations in recent months to reach that agreement.

The verbal agreement will see neither club try and buy the other team’s players so that the two teams do not have to spend more money on contract renewals.

However, if a player is out of contract at one of these two clubs, this agreement does not apply. Real Madrid would then be able to get a Barca player and vice-versa.

In fact, on the day Barca and Madrid faced off in the Spanish Super Cup semi-final, there were rumours of Real Madrid being interested in Araujo. ‘Marca’ says that when Laporta met Perez, he reminded him about the agreement, but the Madrid president denied ‘Los Blancos’ were interested in the Uruguayan.
