Bishop Stephen Richard Bosomtwe Ayensu believes that if John Dramani Mahama is re-elected, he will cancel Free SHS.
He based his case on the fact that, if granted the mandate, the former President has indicated that he will repeal the unpopular e-levy.
Because John Dramani Mahama intends to repeal the e-levy, which will bring much-needed development to the country, Bishop Stephen Richard Bosomtwe Ayensu claims that he will also revoke Free SHS because he is opposed to everything good.
“Take a look at the NPP’s efforts to break the eight. They are putting in place steps to ensure that corruption is eradicated. E-levy is beneficial because when you buy something from a store, they will charge you VAT, but no one knows if they will submit it to the government.
VAT does not generate revenue for the government, therefore if an e-levy is introduced, and it is paperless and electronic, and we are extra cautious, it will aid our development as a country. So, why are you dismissing it? If you’re going to cancel e-levy, you’re also going to terminate Free SHS.
It’s a straightforward calculation. He has decided to cancel everything since he believes his opponent is the one who put them in place. God wants to assist us with these policies, but you claim you’re going to repeal them. Why?”
