John Mahama Went Too Far With His ‘Akyem Sakawa Boys’ Comment — Franklin Cudjoe

Founding President and Chief Executive Officer of IMANI Centre for Policy and Education, Franklin Cudjoe has condemn John Mahama’s ethnocentric comment by calling the people of Akyem Sakawa Boys.

According to him John Mahama went too far in describing an ethnic group as “sakawa” in tensed political moments like this.

He playfully jabs Umaru and calls him ‘Fulani Chinese’ while he also reference to how he is being called ‘Lolobi terminator’. He went on to say that we should be ethnically tolerant.

Below is his full statement;

“We all joke sometimes with tribal memes. But some are very expensive. Describing an ethnic group as “sakawa” is not cool in this tensed political moment. JM went too far. But I don’t think Umaru worries when I call him ‘ ‘Fulani Chinese’ or better when I am called ‘ lolobi terminator’. Let us be ethnically tolerant”.
