The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Bernard Antwi Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi has bragged about how then President Mahama used to beg for his blessings whenever he wanted to enter the Ashanti Region.
Wontumi, who calls himself the governor of the Ashanti Region, claims that the NDC Flagbearer while he was President used to inform him whenever he wanted to enter the Ashanti Region.
The controversial politician’s comment was in reaction to reports that some supposed NDC sympathizers had marked him for death.
“When John Mahama was President, he used to send people to negotiate with me before he (Mahama) stepped foot in Ashanti region…today he is in opposition and I am in power, he is joking, they are joking if they think they can kill me? They know me very well”, Wontumi bragged.
