Joe Wise Shockingly Compares Victims of Techiman South Electoral Violence to ‘Shot Armed Robbers

First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Joseph Osei Owusu has surprisingly likened victims who lost their lives in Techiman South during the 2020 polls to a situation where armed robbers are shot dead while in operation.

Speaking to 3News after the President’s SONA address, Joe Wise noted that the Police should be allowed to conduct their investigations; adding that it’s not necessary the President comment on every criminal issue in the country.

This came after he was asked whether he was disappointed the President did not speak on the electoral violence that happened at Techiman South.

“The president should stay out, let the investigative people determine what happened but I did it is not fair to insist that because somebody died, even if he was in the process of committing a crime, it becomes an issue, No, I beg to differ,” he said.

“I think it is not fair for people to refer to an event without going back, what happened? Should the president just be talking about if a criminal is shot, the crime does not matter?”, he quizzed.

Asked if families of the deceased deserve condolences from the President he responded, “do we commiserate with the families of armed robbers we shoot?”
