The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, Justin Frimpong Kodua , has again reiterated that unity holds the key for the ruling party to achieve its prime goal of breaking the eight.
Mr Kodua who was speaking in an exclusive interview with Oheneba Nana Asiedu on Wontumi TV and radio on Monday said to attain this objective a lot of efforts have to be directed at resolving the pockets of disputes prevailing particularly, at the continency level.
According to the NPP scribe numerous disputes which are begging to be resolved including those at Mampong, Fomena, Kwadaso and Ejisu among others and gave the assurance that the tour will help realize this objective.
Explaining further his precise mission in Ashanti, Mr Koduah added that he is currently on a tour of the Ashanti Region to initiate a thorough consultation process with party members to get to the bottom of these disputes.
“I’m personally leading the team on the fact-finding tour during which there will be a lot of engagements with all the parties involved in the disputes hoping that we would be able to find a permanent solution to all of them.” He opined.
The NPP suffered a deadly blow in the last elections which saw most of its candidates lose their parliamentary seats, a problem attributed largely to the disputes within the elephant party
Some insiders of the party have therefore expressed delight at the current peace-building initiative by the young General Secretary and his team and see it as the panacea for the party to retain power come the 2024 elections.
“It would be a sad situation and ordinary party members would not forgive the current administration if it fails to put the party’s house in order before Ghanaians are ushered into the 2024 elections.” One party faithful noted.
