General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah has told the Supreme Court panel hearing the 2020 Election Petition that EC Chairperson, Jean Mensa was bias towards the NDC.
Asiedu Nketiah made this allegation in his witness statement filed at the Supreme Court registry yesterday.
According to Mr Asiedu Nketiah, the nature of the EC chairperson’s job is such that the occupant of the office must be impartial.
However, Mr Asiedu Nketiah claimed that due to Madam Jean Mensa’s familial relationship with Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo, she acted in bias against the NDC.
Lawyers for the petitioner, yesterday filed their witness statements in accordance with an order of the Supreme Court instructing all parties to do so.
It will be recalled that the petitioner failed to file his witness statements by the original deadline as was initially ordered by the court.
At the last sitting, the Court reminded the petitioner that failure to comply with the Court’s orders could warrant a dismissal of their petition.
Accordingly, the Counsel for the petitioner has filed two witness statements yesterday; one each from Asiedu Nketiah and Michael Kpessah White.
