I’ve Written Twice To Akufo-Addo But He Didn’t Mind Me; Don’t Blame Me For Any Violence – Papavi

Leader of the Homeland Study Group Foundation, Charles Kormi Kudzodzi, popularly known as Papavi, has noted that he has through letters written twice to President Akufo-Addo to engage in talks however, has been ignored.

According to him, his group knows nothing about the recent violence in the Volta region where the State Transport Corporation, police stations and other places were attacked.

Speaking in a recorded video he said, “It had come to my attention that about a week or two ago, there was the blocking of roads, a sort of a demonstration, mayhem in the land [parts of Volta Region]. The Homeland Study Group is a peaceful group. A peace-loving group. A peace generating group which started [in] 1994. I am advising strongly that our people, the Government of Ghana, should take that letter published online seriously and go by it. I have on two occasions written to the President of Ghana for us to sit down and talk at a round table but no attention has been given to the letter.

Papavi further bemoaned why government will send about a 1,000 armed men to haunt him down while he has always made himself available.

According to the 85-yr old man, he has to go into hiding because he does not know the motive behind the sudden search for him by armed men.

He called on government to make swift investigations into incidents of attacks by ‘Western Togoland’ secessionists and stop the needless arrests and locking of innocent persons.
