General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia has likened the inauguration of President Akufo-Addo to a funeral ceremony.
Speaking on Accra FM’s Ghana Yensom program, he noted that the decision to have such a small ceremony at the forecourt of Parliament with restricted access to invited guests as something only akin to a funeral ceremony.
According to him, the President’s posture and mood showed that he was unhappy with his swearing-in because he knew something went wrong during the elections and he doesn’t deserve to be President.
It’s no wonder, he explained, that the Akufo-Addo government, who are about dying held the ceremony at a place that shares a wall with the Osu Cemetery.
“It was obvious that the government was about dying and so it was not surprising that their choice for the ceremony was a place that shares a wall with the Osu Cemetery,” he said.
