What Did The President Mean The System Will Work After The Element Of Surprise? Ablakwa Quizzes Akufo-Addo’s Reaction To Secessionist Attacks

Member of Parliament for North Tongu Constituency in the Volta region Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has noted that President Akufo-Addo’s reaction to the separatist attacks in Volta Region is not assuring enough.

This comes after the President stated that security officials will deal with the ‘handful’ of separatists causing trouble in the Volta region.

“There is always the element of surprise…for all terrorist groups there is an element of surprise, it’s there at the beginning, but after a time when the system is working, you are no longer going to be surprised. So, this they’ve done once or twice, third, fourth, fifth time, is not going to be so easy,” the President said.

In reaction on Starr FM, Ablakwa stated, “there are grave ramifications about what is going on and not to hear the president say one day he hopes the system will work. It’s very disappointing. As the president has indicated, the system is not working.

“Listening to the president carefully, one is left quite worried. Did I hear the president say the element of surprise is there but after the system starts working? That’s not assuring. It shouldn’t take an interview and an ambush by a journalist for him [the president] to address the nation,” he noted.
