Inflation of Contract Is A Crime, Quit The Mere Talks And Prosecute NDC Officials Who Did That – Sammy Gyamfi Tells NPP

The National Communications Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC) Sammy Gyamfi has dared the Akufo Addo led government to proceed and prosecute NDC members who inflated cost of projects and stop the mere rhetorics.

This comes after Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia in a townhall meeting claimed the NDC under John Dramani Mahama inflated cost of projects. According to him, the cost of the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange, which costed $260 could have built four other interchanges.

However, Sammy Gyamfi speaking on Starr Chat with Bola Ray challenged the Vice President and the NPP to take NDC members who have been involved in contract inflation on and quit the mere talks to Ghanaians.

“Inflation of contract is a crime, it will pass for the offence of defrauding by false pretence under our criminal statutes. They’ve been in office for well over three and a half years and yet till date no a scintilla of evidence has been adduced by them to show that any of these contracts is inflated.

“Talk is cheap, it is easy for a Vice President to go and stand in a facility built by the Mills-Mahama administration and talk about inflated projects. When you know that inflation of contract is a crime you should be giving Ghanaians something more than mere talk,” he said.
