IGP Dampare Swore To Use Rev Owusu Bempah As ‘Scapegoat’ Because Of TB Joshua Prophecy – Bempah’s Aide Alleges
An aide to Rev Isaac Owusu Bempah has claimed that the acting Inspector General of Police, George Akuffo Dampare tried to settle personal scores with the man of God when he was remanded into police custody.
According to Charles Owusu, Rev Bempah’s ‘unpalatable’ prophecy concerning the late TB Joshua who is the spiritual father of Dampare was the reason the IGP was determined to teach him a lesson.
“Because Owusu Bempah had spoken against his spiritual father, his spiritual father is T. B. Joshua, before” adding, “even when he was alive T. B. Joshua could not match Owusu Bempah, what at all can you (Dampare) do to him?”, he quizzed on Angel FM.
“I personally listened in to a phone call where the IGP said he will not grant him (Owusu Bempah) bail and that he will let the law take its course. That he is using Owusu Bempah to set an example in the country,” Charles Owusu alleged.
Owusu Bempah was arrested on Sunday, September 12, together with three other members of his church. On Monday, he was charged with offensive conduct conducive to breach of peace, the threat of death, and assault of office public officers.
He has however been granted bail to the tune of GHS200,000 with two sureties by an Accra High court.
