Ignore SIM Card Re-Registration To Avoid E-Levy- Ghanaians Told

The back-and-forth over the government’s proposed contentious electronic levy for Ghanaians is well underway.

To prevent the e-levy that the government wants to impose on Ghanaians, Ghanaians must now boycott SIM card re-registration.

The NCA and telcos have stated that they will block all unregistered SIM cards in March 2022, which means that if the majority of people decide to boycott SIM card re-registration, the government will have a tough time implementing the e-levy.

“At least 24 percent of MoMo transactions will shrink if the e-levy passes,” says deputy finance minister John Kumah.

“Our government is begging with us to understand them so they can implement the E-LEVY,” Elikem Kotoko says simply.

If we don’t re-register our SIM cards by March 2022, the same government threatens to BLOCK them.

Don’t be concerned about joining a big line to re-register your SIM; we’ll see what happens in March.”
