A former NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Weija-Gbawe Constituency, Obuobia Darko Opoku has questioned why NPP MPs left the comfort of their beds as early as 4 am just to fight for seats at the right hand of the Speaker.
According to her, why should the NPP be struggling to sit at the right side of the aisle when they claim to be in the majority.
In a Facebook post, she wrote,
βApparently the NPP had gathered in parliament, 4 am this morning for the reconvening of parliament today. Itβs baffling how they claim to be the majority side but left the comfort of their beds to be early enough to sit on the right-hand side of the speaker. If our brothers on the other side of the divide confidently believe they have maintained their majority status in the house as they so claim passionately, why must they serve as watchmen over seats on the right side of the aisle and for how long do they intend guarding those seats? Question for the marines right???
In any case, the leader of the NDC caucus has stated that they have no qualms sitting on any side of the house. As he loosely put it, βwhatβs at the right and what is at the leftβ?For me I donβt think you need to struggle to enjoy what is rightfully yours. Itβs another long day today, let me just do justice to the bowl of Hausa koko in-front of me and wait
