I Will Not Attend Your Manifesto Launch – Rawlings Tells NDC

Credible reports reaching this portal indicates that the Founder of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Jerry John Rawlings has told his own party that he will not honor an invitation to attend the launch of the Party’s manifesto which has been scheduled for 7th September 2020.

The NDC, who were initially scheduled to launch their manifesto on August 31, had to reschedule the event citing conflicting reasons for the turnout of events.

The Party, having agreed to set Monday 7th September as the new date for the launch, is reported to have informed their founder as courtesy demands.

However, reliable reports received by this portal indicates that Mr Rawlings has officially informed the party hierarchy that he will not be able to honor the invitation as expected. We are told that the former President did not actually state any reasons for his decision.

Interestingly, Mr Rawlings is expected to speak at the National Delegates Conference of The National Democratic Party; the conference that is expected to outdoor his wife, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings as flagbearer for the 2020 Elections.

Former President Rawlings is scheduled to speak on the theme, “Shared Leadership for National Transformation, Human Empowerment and Anti-Corruption”. The conference is expected to run from Friday, 4th September to Saturday, 5th September at the GNAT Hall in Accra.
