I Was Treated Like A Criminal – Female Teacher Who Feeds Pupils From Her Own Pocket Narrates Her Harassment By GES

Abena Serwah Mankosah, a pupil teacher who made headlines a few weeks ago through her benevolence in using her meagre salary to provide a balanced diet and other goodies to her pupils, has narrated her ordeal at the hands of the Ghana Education Service (GES).

Abena Mankosah caught the attention of social media when her story made it all the way to the BBC.

However, as Ghanaians shared the story and praised the young female teacher for her kindness, reports emerged that the GES had instructed her to come to the office with her documents, apparently to be sanctioned for what they claim is misconduct.

Apparently, the GES deems it a misconduct to take photographs of pupils; even though politicians have been doing this since time immemorial after handing out few exercise books and other stuff.

Some even alleged that Abena Mankosah was been targeted because she had openly confessed her support for the NDC, and even had a picture of the NDC running mate for the 2020 elections on her facebook profile.

However, Abena Mankosah has narrated the ordeal personnel from the GES and some men from the Adankeame village took her through for doing a yeoman’s job.

Abena Serwaa detailed how she was treated like a criminal and humiliated by the GES.

Listen to her below.
