I Thought I’d Be An Ordinary MP; Being Elected 2nd Deputy Speaker Was Shocking – Fomena MP

Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament and MP for Fomena, Andrews Amoako Asiamah has revealed that he was absolutely dumbfounded to know that he was being considered for the position as second deputy speaker in Ghana’s 8th Parliament.

Speaking to Ghanaweb after his swearing in, he noted that he only thought he was going to be an ordinary Member of Parliament in the house and not honoured with such position of speakership.

“I entered the Chamber of Parliament with the view that I was going to be sworn in as an ordinary Member of Parliament only for me to be met with shock that I was going to be considered as the second deputy speaker of the Parliament. It was shock and I never thought of it…It really came to me as surprise,” he pointed.
