I Spent Over Two Weeks Speaking To MPs Individually To Vote For Bagbin – Muntaka

Asawase Legislator, Muntaka Mubarak has said that he spent more than two weeks trying to convince colleague Members of Parliament to vote for Alban Bagbin as next Speaker of Parliament.

He noted that although Bagbin was from the NDC side, it was not guaranteed that everyone would vote for him therefore he took it upon himself to convince MPs from both the NPP and NDC caucus.

“We were trying to let them understand that this was in our national interest to get a Speaker on the other side so that we can put a check on the executive,” he told Joy News.

“And I spent almost two and a half weeks after the election trying to reach out to as many members not only on our side but on the other side as well,” he said.
