‘I Have No Father Or Mother Now, You Are My Everything’ – Bawumia Tells Otumfuor

The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has led a family delegation to the Manhyia Palace to pay a courtesy call on the Asantehene, Otumfuor Osei Tutu II.

The visit was to officially express appreciation to the Asantehene for his support during the burial and funeral rites of the Vice President’s late mother, Hajia Mariama Bawumia.

Dr. Bawumia, on behalf of his family and his clansmen, thanked the Asantehene for sending a delegation all the way to the Mamprugu Kingdom to commiserate with them during the farewell of their dear mother.

In expressing his appreciation, the Vice President also asked for the Asante Overlord’s continued support and guidance now that he is without a father and a mother.

Speaking in impeccable Twi, Dr. Bawumia specifically told Otumfuor to consider him as his own since he is now without a father or mother.
