Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, director of elections for the opposition national Democratic Congress (NDC) has denied reports that the party will be arming its polling agents with guns and bulletproofs in the 2024 elections.
According to reports, lessons learnt from the 2020 polls have put the NDC on high alert and are willing to go the extreme to protect their votes in 2024.
However, in a statement, Afriyie Ankrah has distanced himself from those claims.
“I wish to state emphatically and categorically that that attribution is completely false, and must be treated with the contempt it deserves,” Mr Afriyie Ankrah said in a statement on Friday.
“I am arranging to get the full unedited version of the interview so the entire world would hear exactly what I said, and expose the perfidy of the publishers.”
