Running mate for independent presidential aspirant in this year’s election has revealed that he received a phone call from the ‘Western Togoland’ secessionists as they sought someone to speak to.
According to Mr Jacob Osei Yeboah, the group wanted to meet him because they found a leader in him and felt they could air their grievances to him.
Speaking to GhanaWeb’s Election Desk, he explained that there have been some foreign infiltration in the Volta region who are perpetrating the violence; he expressed happiness that the leader of the Homeland Study Group have distanced the group from the recent spate of violent attacks in the region.
He told GhanaWeb, “what is happening over there is indeed true that it is not they themselves. We now have foreign elements and that is the danger of the security system that we have in our country.”
