I Don’t Know Who Has A Secret Girlfriend Called Ramatu – Bagbin Resurrects Bawumia’s 2nd Wife Wahala

The makeshift floor of parliament was a scene of mischief and chaotic scenes yesterday when the President of the republic, Nana Akufo-Addo delivered the state of the Nation address.

In what appears to be deliberate mischief by the members of the minority caucus, subtly fueled by the right honorable Speaker himself, Mr Alban Bagbin, the vice president and his wife, Samira Bawumia were left embarrased as minority MPs chanted “we want Ramatu, we want Ramatu”.

It will be recalled that on the inauguration of President Akufo-Addo and vice president Mahamudu Bawumia on 7th January 2021, the Speaker of parliament somehow mentioned one Hajia Ramatu Bawumia as the spouse of the vice president when he was introducing the dignitaries.

The Speaker quickly corrected this error while clarifying that this was actually the name that was presented to him by Protocol officers.

Some have alleged that Ramatu Bawumia is the first wife of the Vice President who has been allegedly marginalized from the public life of the second gentleman apparently due to her low educational background; a claim that is not based on any known and verifiable facts.

However, at yesterday’s event, the minority MPs made it a point to deliberately ridicule the second lady by chanting “we want Ramatu” after the speaker had correctly introduced her by mentioning her name; Hajia Samira Ramadan Bawumia.

The speaker mischievously responded by saying he did not which of the MPs had a girlfriend called Ramatu.
