I Am The Apostle Paul Of Our Time – Bawumia Declares

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who is a prominent contender in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer race has drawn a comparison between himself and the Apostle Paul from the Bible.

Paul, previously known as Saul of Tarsus, had a life-altering experience on the road to Damascus when he had a profound encounter with the Holy Spirit. This encounter completely transformed him and propelled him to become a highly influential figure in the early Christian community.

Driven by an intense zeal to proclaim the Gospel, Paul undertook extensive missionary voyages, carrying the message of Jesus Christ to a wide range of communities and cultures. His steadfast dedication to evangelism and his ceaseless endeavors in establishing Christian congregations were pivotal in the widespread growth and influence of the faith.

During a speech delivered to delegates in the Tema West Constituency of the Greater Accra Region, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, drawing a comparison to the biblical figure of Paul, addressed the criticism that he should not be considered for the flagbearer position because of his relatively recent affiliation with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in 2008.

Addressing the delegates, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia highlighted the fact that, contrary to the argument against his candidacy based on his relatively recent affiliation with the NPP, the biblical figure of Paul also joined Christianity later but went on to make a significant impact. Comparing himself to Paul, he emphasized that, just like Paul, he has worked tirelessly and believes that, apart from Jesus, Paul had the most profound influence on Christianity.
