Former President John Dramani Mahama has stated that he started the free senior high school policy, although progressively and had better plans on how to implement it as against what the current New Patriotic Party (NPP) is doing.
Speaking on Class FM, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer ridiculed claims by the NPP that they brought free shs and he(Mahama) is against it and will run it down if reelected as President.
“How can I be against free shs when I started it, progressive though but I started it,” Mahama stressed.
He bemoaned the poor implementation of the programme stating it is one of the most expensive free education in the world, yet it is poor.
Mahama affirmed that the NDC will make the free shs better when they come into power in 2021.
